Coming Up For Air
Welcome to the new site!
This is something I’ve had brewing for a while. Finding a new name I liked and the time to futz with it all were what kept me from doing it sooner.
Y’all know how much I like being “Red Sox Chick” but I was getting more and more uncomfortable with the name. For various reasons – including some negative backlash it has received from other women fans who think it’s a bad representation of us and the fact that I’ll be forty in December – and I have to admit I’m not quite a “chick” anymore.
Not much will change around here (but now you can comment anonymously if you like), although I admit to feeling quite liberated at shedding the RSC tag. I’m liking the minimalistic look too…so, yes, that’s probably staying. But, you know me…fickle is my middle name. I’m keeping the new domain name, but the theme could change at any time! I hope you all like it. I already do!
If you want to find the archives of all the Red Sox Chick blog entries, you can find them here.

Toeing the Rubber? I prefer RSC, and since I’ve never commented on your site before, I must be serious
Your site drew me into all this wonderful madness, don’t change it (please).
I’m not changing the site. But the name needs to go underground for a while.
(Thanks for the kind words, though!)
It is only now do I realize just how dirty “Toeing the Rubber” sounds. Right up there “Free Swinger,” “Splitter Down the Middle,” and anything involving mention of “Retractable Domes.”
I like the new look. . . the new name, not so much. But it’s your site.
Love the look but you will always be the Red Sox Chick to me.
I would love to see a left-hand margin on your new site. Since you’ve disassociated your name from the Red Sox, it will be hard for Boston fans to find you … I’m glad I found you when I did.
I’ve stubbed my toe, bruised my shins and spilled lemonade all over the new carpeting… So much for going to the loo in the middle of the night without turning on the lights…
Letting me have an extraordinary amount of free time while confining me to the house is usually a bad idea.
