You don’t save a pitcher for tomorrow. Tomorrow it may rain. - Leo Durocher

So here’s the plan

I pretty myself up and get to church to witness the wedding of a good friend.

I return home, as good friend’s reception is chock full o’ seafood and I’d rather live to see the Red Sox win than die while doing the chicken dance.

I bite what nails I have left off in anticipation of game 2.

I use fingernail-less hands to live blog and save myself from the asshats at TBS.

Red and Denton used a funky new liveblogging tool last night for their live blog.  I don’t think I’ll be getting all crazy that way (I’ll save it for next season’s live blogs) but I was sad at the idea of not live-blogging any more and figured this would be my best option as I think tonight is the only game I’ll be watching alone.

I’m still stunned.  Not that they won last night, but at how amazing the pitching was.  Matsuzaka, Okajima, Masterson, Papelbon…I heart them all this morning.  Very, very much.  :)

Joshua Patrick on the mound tonight.  And I am filled with hope.  :)  I’ll be here around 8pm…join me, won’t you?

  1. Um, Ms Beazer, if it’s not too much trouble, er, ah, would you, could you let me know about close plays?

You see, I have this new iPhone that I don’t know how to use, but it does have SMS (what ever that is), and since I’m leaving early this afternoon, with a bag full of ear plugs, I was hoping you’d be good enough to let me know what’s happening.

The last time I saw the Texan was last Sunday night. He was not at his best. I figure he owes us one; a rather big one and I fully expect him to deliver.

Anyway, have fun at the wedding, and remember, when the dance calls for putting a foot in and taking it out, keep the cardboard cutout of Scott Boras’ ass at home

  2. Woo! Have a great time at the Trop!!!!

Beckett owes you - he won’t disappoint this time!

I’ll definitely keep tabs on the close stuff (the phone will be by my side!).

  3. Tru - a couple of iPhone tips…If you go to http://www.espn.com and scroll to the bottom and tap on MLB then select the game it will show you every at bat as it happens and where the pitch came over the plate. Hit the ‘on’ button for auto refresh and it will keep updating itself with every pitch. Also, my husband downloaded an MLB application in the App Store for $4.99 that does this as well. I just prefer the free version.

  5. Tex? Thanks, hon, that image just made me fracture a couple of ribs I am laughing so hard…I now have this crazy idea the whole pitching staff is wearing Underroos for all post season games. Hee!
