Glad the Phillies won. I couldn't take much more of Torre's miserable face.

The guy in the still at the beginning of the Glee video clip looks exactly like Theo.

I have a good friend in NJ who is a Phanatic Phillies Phan. I wrote him and congratulated him on their win last night. I wished him good luck and said that next October the back to back champions would meet the other two year champs in Boston to decide who is the best team of the new century. Go Phillies!

Yes, our turn will come again, soon!

ALthough it makes my mouth hurt and my head ache to say it, I have to agree with Kelly. The M****F**** Yankees are a better team. But then, why wouldn't they be? They were purchased and put together this past winter to win the World Series that has thus far been out of their reach for a while. And, finally, the investment in A Rod appears to be paying off in October (took long enough).
It would be ridiculous for me or any of us to think that they would not win a world series again at some point...how could they not? But I will root for the Phillies who for some reason make me think the most of the Red Sox and their fans...

"Then they showed up in the following game playing like they spent the night before out too late partying."

Or like a team at the end of a long season running into both a terrific pitcher and an awfully talented team. Their bullpen had probably outperformed its ability in the postseason up to that game; Kazmir spitting the bit put them in a really bad spot. I hate seeing a tough loss described in a way that implies they didn't try hard enough or take it seriously. I think the Yankees are a better team. Doesn't mean the Angels can't beat them, but they have to play better in a short series than they would over the whole season to do it, and that ain't easy.
