Once again, you are right on the money,Cyn. As a Tek fan, I am glad he’ll be back. Martinez would decline if he caught full time(the Indians knew this). So Tek gets some playing time. If you look back, he hit well before the All Star Break and then he got really beat up. With limited playing time, both he and Martinez will get a spell and I think both of them will play better. Its a win-win!

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who was irked by that article. I muttered out loud more than once while reading it, “Who is this dope, and why should we care what he thinks?”

I was also mad that the “This Won’t End Well” was up there in such a huge font for 2 straight days on their re-arranged site that I still haven’t figured out how to navigate!

I miss my baseball and can’t wait for some real news!

I read the Globe article this morning on Boston.com and found it to be utterly ridiculous. This guy must have stayed up all night trying to find a way to make Tek’s return to the team into a negative. Slow news day indeed.

Tek knows what will be expected of him upon his return and I seriously doubt he would have come back to the Sox if he had any problem with it whatsoever. Gasper clearly paid no attention to the second half of the Red Sox season when Varitek displayed considerable grace, literally taking one for the team as he accepted his new role. He has always behaved as a captain should.

Where does the Globe get these people? You’d think they’d at least hire someone who knew what they were talking about.

Glad to see your comments on that guy…I was spouting mad after I read it. If there is anything you can say about TEK, it’s about the way he handled the addition of Victor to the team. You never heard him complain, and you often saw him on the field..in the dugout…in deep discussion with him. Thats called mentoring Globe chump!

I’m a huge TEK fan as you know, but even I have accepted that his role has changed…will change more..and eventually will disappear from the field of play. But you have to acknowledge what he brings to this team, what he has meant to this team, and what he deserves from this organization.

That Globe guy better never walk across the street when I’m in the car! lol…You know I’d only yell bad words out the window!

What about Tek and Martinez fighting over a parking spot or fighting over where their bats are placed in the dugout or fighting over Heidi’s affections? What about Martinez wanting a “C” on his shirt cause he thinks it stands for “Catcher”? Hell, I can make up a lot more spicy crap that MIGHT happen.
