I'm glad Theo didn't pony up for the privilege. The Red Sox got one with a 740 OPS a few months ago, but at least he's still at an age where he might improve. The Red Sox aren't going to suck in 2010. They just won 95 games with no shortstop, and replacement-level defenders there, in left field, and at third base. And with a guy in the No. 3 spot in the rotation who didn't get out of Pawtucket until the All-Star break.
