It’s the little things that drive me crazy. In an effort to be the first and fastest to get news out there, the Boston Globe and Peter Abraham let such sloppy writing get past them.
It was corrected about an hour after it was posted, but that it ever got posted just blows my mind. It would have taken a moment for anyone with any knowledge of the team to realize that he didn’t BECOME Captain in 1997, he joined the team in 1997. This is no doubt the biggest story they’ll report on from Fort Myers this week. Getting the facts straight before hitting the “publish” button will certainly come in handy.

And really, was there a rush to get this news out? Didn’t we all pretty much expect it? Taking an extra two minutes wouldn’t have hurt at all.
“Homer: *sighs* Listen, do you want it done right or do you want it done fast?
Marge: Well, like all Americans, I want it done fast.”
Oh that’s perfect!
