About the Blog
This blog has been around in different manifestations since July 2005 when I took to MLBlogs as “Red Sox Chick” (“Because life is too short to be a Yankees Chick”) to write a quick blurb about my disgust at seeing Alan Embree in pinstripes. The Red Sox Chick blog became the most read blog at MLBlogs and I took it from there to my own domain (redsoxchick.com ~ which I somewhat grudgingly gave up in 2011) and finally in 2008 I decided to turn it into Toeing the Rubber.
2009 saw me taking the blog to WEEI.com after winning “The Next Great Sports Blogger” contest. Toeing the Rubber was housed at WEEI’s website for about half the year and then I brought it back to my own domain. Due to some major technical issues, most of the posts from 2009 have either no photos or bad links where there should be a photo (I’m slowly working on cleaning that up.) There have been times when I’ve considered shutting the blog down but, ultimately, my love for the Red Sox, baseball and writing about both keep me here and will for a very long time.
If you’re new to the blog, here are some links to specific entries that will give you a good idea about who I am and why I’m blogging (in order only by the year they were written):
